Mode of Action: Roundup herbicide is a post-emergent herbicide, it kills plants after they have emerged from the soil. Roundup herbicide is a non-selective herbicide, which means it can kill most plants, regardless of their type or species. It contains glyphosate, which inhibits an enzyme called EPSP synthase in plants. This enzyme is essential for the synthesis of aromatic amino acids, which are needed for various plant functions. By blocking this enzyme, Roundup herbicide disrupts the plant’s metabolism and causes gradual death.
